The Three Seas Initiative covers 12 countries between the Adriatic, Baltic, and Black seas and aims to promote the development and connectivity of the region. We have the prerequisites for growth, but we also need to foster both cooperation and private and public investment to develop infrastructure projects, said the Saeima Speaker Ināra Mūrniece at the opening of the Three Seas Initiative Parliamentary Forum at the Saeima on Tuesday, 21 June.

"This exhibition is a testimony to the selflessness and heroism of Ukrainian photojournalist Maks Levin in the line of duty and encourages us to bow our heads once again before the Ukrainian soldiers and the Ukrainian people who defend their country every day with all their might," said Ināra Mūrniece, Speaker of the Saeima, as she opened the photo exhibition "Russian military invasion of Ukraine. Chronicles of 2022: Beginning."

On Thursday, 16 June, the Saeima supported in the final reading urgent amendments to the Law on Assistance to Ukrainian Civilians that posit that basic assistance is to be provided to Ukrainian people fleeing the war until the end of the year.

On Thursday, 16 June, the Saeima passed in the final reading a law that provides for the dismantling of the sites glorifying the Soviet and Nazi regimes, including the Monument to the Soviet soldiers—Liberators of Soviet Latvia and Riga from the German Fascist Invaders in the Victory Park in Riga.

On Thursday, 16 June, the Saeima approved in the second and final reading urgent amendments to the Law on Political Parties that prohibit political parties from turning against the independence and territorial integrity of Latvia or other democratic states and from expressing or disseminating proposals to violently change the political system of the Republic of Latvia or another democracy.

On Thursday, 9 June, the Saeima adopted in the second and final reading amendments to the Electronic Mass Media Law in order to strengthen the Latvian information space and ensure that the public does not have access to programmes that are not included in the list of audio and audio-visual programmes retransmitted in Latvia.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, leader of the Belarusian democracy movement, thanked Latvia for supporting Belarusians in their fight for democracy in her address to the Parliament of Latvia on Thursday, 9 June.

 The resilience of the people of Belarus under dictatorship and oppression deserves our utmost respect and admiration. Latvia will continue to provide support for Belarusians in their fight for the right to live in a free county and enjoy democracy and human rights. This message was underscored by Ināra Mūrniece, Speaker of the Saeima, in her meeting with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, leader of the Belarusian democracy movement, at the Saeima on Wednesday, 7 June.

Latvia and Greece are like-minded democratic states. The friendly relations and mutual understanding are the basis for closer cooperation while jointly facing unprecedented geopolitical shocks in Europe. This was emphasised by the Speaker of the Saeima Ināra Mūrniece on Friday, 3 June, during a meeting with the President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou. The President’s visit to Latvia was organised to mark the centenary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

On Thursday, 2 June, the Saeima adopted in the final reading a law on support measures for entrepreneurs facing the economic consequences of the sanctions and countermeasures imposed against Russia in response to its military aggression.
